As a babysitter for neighbors during high school! I provided care for two families nearby who each had two children, one family with an infant and a toddler, and the other with elementary-age kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Board games, stories and reading, yoga (breathing and postures), singing, drawing, coloring, and helping kids' imaginations find a safe space to explore with make-believe. I love to spend time in parks, observing and naming the details of the natural world. It can be a great place for scavenger hunts :) Any educational activities a or field trips are also wonderful, and I do not mind running errands with the children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Reliability, kind attentiveness, and good role modeling. Just listening and noticing what children need, and using discernment for what activities would make them happy and safe in the moment.
