I have previously worked at the Buehler YMCA summer camp and afterschool program for the past five years. I also coached for the Palatine Park District youth cheerleading team for one season. I currently have an internship as a teacher assistant for Lincoln Family Services. Throughout my last two years at the University of Nebraska, I have participated in multiple college-level child development classes with practicums working with an age range of children from 1 year old to 9 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When I am babysitting or nannying, I love to plan out a schedule full of different activities and crafts to do with the kids throughout the day. For instance, we could engage in outdoor chalk play, complete a small art project, or engage in tie-dying activities. I also love going for walks or riding bikes with the kids to a local destination like the park, the pool, an ice cream shop, a library, etc. In my experience, kids are much better behaved and have more fun when they're kept busy with a consistent schedule full of games and activities.
