I am an education student at KU with extensive experience in childcare and safety. Currently, I work as a preschool teacher at Hilltop Child Development Center, where I support young children's development and learning. I am CPR and First Aid certified and previously worked as a lifeguard for five years, during which I also taught swim lessons for three years. Additionally, I have eight years of babysitting experience, providing attentive and responsible care for children of various ages.

Beyond childcare, I am also comfortable with pets. I have experience working at a dog daycare and have two dogs of my own, making me well-equipped to care for families with pets. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, reading books, and playground visits. With my background in swimming, I am also comfortable supervising water activities, whether it’s a day at the pool or sprinkler play in the backyard. I also enjoy baking simple recipes with children, allowing them to have fun while learning basic cooking skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a little boy I was watching overcome his fear of the pool. He had always been nervous about the water, but since I have a background in swim instruction, I knew how to make it fun and safe for him. We started by just splashing at the edge, then moved on to playing games where he could dip his toes in. After a few days of encouragement and lots of silly water games, he finally worked up the courage to float with my support. Seeing his face light up with pride and excitement when he realized he was doing it was such a rewarding moment. His parents were thrilled, and by the end of the summer, he was confidently swimming on his own! Moments like that remind me why I love working with kids, helping them grow, build confidence, and have fun along the way.
