Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages, from infants and toddlers to elementary school-aged children. I spent eight years working in an infant and toddler childcare center, where I provided daily care, planned age-appropriate activities, supported developmental milestones, and maintained routines such as meals, naps, diapering, and transitions.

I enjoy keeping children active, engaged, and having fun while also finding opportunities for them to learn. Depending on their age and interests, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, reading, music and movement, sensory activities, imaginative play, outdoor activities, games, and age-appropriate educational activities.
I also love getting children involved in everyday activities and letting them explore their interests. Whether it’s going to the park, playing outside, having a dance party, doing a craft project, or simply reading a favorite book together, I like making sure children feel engaged and excited about their day.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting relationship with the child while making sure they feel safe, supported, and cared for. Children need someone who is dependable and patient, but also someone who genuinely enjoys being in their world.
For me, being a nanny is about more than simply keeping children safe. It’s about getting to know who they are, encouraging their interests, supporting their development, celebrating their accomplishments, and being there for them emotionally. I want children to feel comfortable being themselves around me and know that they have someone who will listen to them, encourage them, and help them grow.

My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children with autism, selective mutism, physical disabilities, and learning disabilities. In my most recent school position, I provided one-on-one support and adapted activities and communication to meet each child’s individual needs. I worked closely with teachers and specialists to support their educational and developmental goals while encouraging independence, confidence, communication, and positive social interactions.
One experience that was especially meaningful to me was working with a child with selective mutism who was initially completely nonverbal. Over the course of the school year, I helped build a communication style that made her feel comfortable and supported. By the end of the year, she was using several words and beginning to mumble, and she had developed enough trust to come to me for support. Seeing her confidence grow was incredibly rewarding and reminded me how important patience, consistency, and building trust can be.
