More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been a volunteer Sunday school teacher at Mountain View church of the Nazarene since I was 13. I’ve babysat children ages 1-13 for family, friends, and neighbors for over 5 years. I’ve served as a camp counselor at summer camps such as summer hummer and kids rock camp. I’ve also worked with children who have disabilities in the special needs classrooms at my middle school and high school. When I’m not volunteering in children ministries I’m often hanging out with my partners family were I frequently babysit his 3 year old brother and pre teen sisters.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love crafts like coloring of making bracelets. I enjoy play-dough activities, dancing to fun music (age appropriate and approved of by the parents), playing outdoor games, making music with random items, reading stories, playing at playgrounds, walking around parks, and anything outdoors. I can be very energetic and enthusiastic as well as I can enjoy a good day inside being calm and collected.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is caring for the children in a manner that encompasses their parent’s beliefs and ensures their safety.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve volunteered in the special needs classrooms in my school ever since I was little. My sister has several needs that often need assistance so I’ve been around to help her with those. My neighbor has severe autism and I’ve always been willing to help out her family when need be. I’ve also had children in my Sunday school class that have a wide range of disabilities and I’m capable of accommodating any needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment would have to be when I was supervising my neighbors children that I had watched for over 4 years. The oldest boy, 5 at the time, looked at me and started reciting the periodic table and listing facts about the elements that I didn’t even know. It’s always great to see a child who has gifts and talents it give me hope.
