It's all about starting early with their development and speaking as much as possible to introduce words, counting, music and much more. Introducing them to all environments is also important. When I would pick up the kids from school I would always ask how their day went. Without fail, one of the kids would say, "I don't want to talk right now. Can you ask me later at lunch?" It's clear he needed time to decompress after a long day lol!
