More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
For the past two years, I have worked as a teacher’s assistant in the toddler classroom (ages 12 to 24 months) at a preschool in Scottsdale. This role has given me hands-on experience in early childhood development and the opportunity to support children through their key developmental milestones. I’ve also had the chance to assist in various other classrooms, allowing me to work with a wide range of age groups and adapt to different learning styles. Prior to this role, I worked at several summer camps with children ages 7 to 13, and I’ve provided babysitting services for nearly four years. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with children of all ages and support their growth in a nurturing, engaging environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Working at a preschool for nearly three years has taught me to embrace the mess—because that’s where the learning happens! I love getting hands-on with activities involving paint, dot markers, clay, play dough, and more. While art projects are always a favorite, I believe it's just as important to introduce children to a variety of sensory and educational experiences that spark curiosity and development—always with an element of fun! Outdoors, you’ll usually find me running around with the kids, playing sports, and diving into the sandbox fun right alongside them. I love being active and fully engaged in their play—it’s all part of creating a joyful and energetic learning environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building genuine trust, connection, and friendship—not just with the child, but with the parents as well. Creating that foundation allows everyone to feel secure and supported. It’s about becoming a consistent, positive presence in the child’s life while also partnering with parents to reinforce their values and routines. When there's open communication and mutual respect, it creates a nurturing environment where the child can truly thrive.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have direct experience working with children with special needs yet, my education has given me valuable insight into how to support and care for them with empathy and understanding. I’m also a highly adaptable person, eager to learn and adjust to meet the unique needs of every child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I’ve never worked as a full-time nanny, I regularly babysit for several families. One of my favorite moments happened a little over a year ago, when I did a simple Mother’s Day art activity with the child I was caring for. That evening, his mom texted me to say thank you—and shared that the project had brought her to tears. Her son typically doesn’t show much interest in art, so seeing him create something heartfelt meant the world to her. It was such a meaningful reminder of how small moments can make a big impact.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Tempe, AZ: Maddie S.
I have well over 10 yeas of experience working with children of all ages. I started as a preschool teacher where I worked with infants, have potty trained, and taught the foundation for reading. The last 4 1/2 years I have worked as a school librarian with kinder to 8th grade where I got to provide opportunities for the students to fall in love with reading, as well as plan hands on activities for the students. I have worked as a nanny before and it is still one of my favorite jobs I had. I worked very closely with the children’s parents to make sure I was partnering with their parenting style. I loved planning activates and outings to keep the children limited in technology and staying creative.
