A little bit about me

I am in the masters of nursing program at Mount Saint Joseph university. I just graduated undergrad studying biomedical sciences and plan to become a pediatric nurse after I graduate from the masters program! I started babysitting when I was a freshman in high school. I have nannied every summer since and I absolutely love it!! I just recently nannied this past summer for a family of 5 boys the youngest being 5 mo, so I am comfortable with all ages! I also have experience with kids that have special needs! I am currently available on occasions as I start the masters program in January! I could also be flexible as my schedule changes each semester!

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy spending time outside watching little ones run around and get their energy out. I don’t mind kids having screen time, but I do like when they have some structure to it! I like to create a plan for the kids for the day as it’s enjoyable for them and they are able to look forward to doing things they love! If it’s a rainy/ sluggish day I like to do activities like painting/ puzzles/ learning activities that help with little ones learning!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to allow the kids to have fun but also take precautions! I also love to make parents feel comfortable along the way. I usually keep track of the kids daily movements to share with the parents when they get home (if it is serious I let them know right away). For example, if I am watching a baby who needs a bottle I keep track of how much they eat/ how many diaper changes etc!

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with autism, CP, and Down syndrome. I have also cared for children with learning disabilities!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nannying moment was teaching a boy how to swing. I was a junior in high school and he tried and tried every day. Finally he was able to get it and it definitely made me shed a tear or two (or more… haha!). This was the moment I knew I wanted to become a pediatric physical therapist as I wanted to help kids to become strong enough to do all the things they could think of!!
