A little bit about me

I am seeking a part-time position with a family where I can provide attentive, supportive, and developmentally informed care. I have over two and a half years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), working with children on the autism spectrum. This experience has strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to maintain a calm, supportive presence with children of all abilities.

I am currently pursuing a degree in Family and Marriage Psychology and have completed several developmental psychology courses. My academic background, combined with hands-on experience, allows me to take a structured and educational approach while still prioritizing creativity and play, which I believe are essential to healthy development.

I enjoy getting to know each child’s unique personality and tailoring my approach to meet their individual needs. I value honest communication and strive to create a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for every family I support.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a registered behavioral technician at a small private ABA clinic for the last two and a half years. At this job I learned structured teaching and behavioral management while working with children on the spectrum as well as children diagnosed with ODD, age range of 3 to 16. Before that I volunteered at my church and worked with ages from 2 all the way to 17.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy outdoor activities with children as well as games designed for learning. I am an artist so I also enjoy coloring, painting, or sculpting with children of all ages.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Teaching children to advocate for themselves through functional communication is the most important thing to me. Once a child can communicate their wants and needs they become far more independent and self assured.

My experience with special needs children...

I have over two years experience of working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as children with ADHD, and ODD. I have worked with many children with ranging abilities. I have experience with nonverbal children using communication cards or communication devices as well as children with angelmen syndrome.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have not worked as a nanny yet but my favorite moment working as an RBT was my first session with a 5 year old boy with autism. He liked making sounds as a vocal stem and would also repeat scenes from his favorite movies and tv shows while engaging in scripting. Normally he would do this by himself and not involve others but I recognized the movie he was quoting and finished the “scene” he was playing out and his eyes lit up when he realized I joined him. This helped me bond with him and in time helped me teach him to communicate with others more effectively.
