More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Before becoming a Nanny, I spent many summers as a camp counselor, caring for middle school children, helping to create safe and fun environment for children to grow in. Throughout high school and college I regularly babysat for family friends, younger cousins and nieces and nephews.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a firm believer that spending time outdoors is so good for children. I love taking kids to parks, hiking trails and walks around the neighborhood. During covid, the outdoors was a saving grace! I also love taking kids to children's museums, music classes and other classes in which the children are interested/curios about. I enjoy occasionally taking kids out to eat, practicing how to behave in restaurants and having those fun experiences. Indoor activities, with arts and crafts, imagination play, or age appropriate games.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of nannying is safety. Keeping the kids safe not only physically but nurturing them mentally as well. Knowing that home is a safe place and the adults in their life are put there to protect and love them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a child that suffered from albinism, which meant taking the utmost precautions whenever going outside. Finding outdoor activities that kept him safe while having fun.
One child was on the spectrum and learning how to live and thrive together. Discussing social cues and social norms. Learning acceptable behaviors. Nurturing interests and hobbies, allowing child to grow in their curiosities. I learned how much structure, and routine are important. How honest, to the point answers were valued.
worked with another child who was still unable to speak. Learning how to communicate in our own way, taking him to Speech therapy classes and practicing at home.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Chicago, IL: Lubia R.
I'm currently seeking a position as a FT or PT nanny, preferably with a Spanish-speaking family!
A little about me:
I started as a caregiver working for a daycare, which allowed me to see why being a nanny is my true calling. I have more than 20 years of experience with newborns and toddlers. I take pride in teaching children skills that will further their development. I love doing activities such as arts and crafts, reading, taking walks, going to the playground, and overall any activity that I know will enrich the children that I care for. I also speak Spanish, and sometimes families are also interested in children learning a second language, so I can definitely teach Spanish if needed.
My schedule is flexible in case there is a need for evening care on weekends/date nights as well.
I can provide references as well upon request.
I hope to be your next choice for a nanny.
