"Hannah was an amazing nanny for our daughter! She spent a lot of time doing arts and crafts with her and teaching her about colors and shapes and letters. She took our daughter outside regularly to play and our daughter absolutely loves her. She has also been great to help out around the house with some light housework. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

This year, I completed a six-week practicum internship at Robert Frost Elementary, where I planned and taught art lessons to students in grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th.

This summer, I worked with Arts Bridge to help run a summer school art program at Glendale Middle School for students going into 6th-8th grade.

This summer, I was also an assistant teacher with the University of Utah's Youth Arts Program.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite thing to do as a nanny is art projects with the children. I love seeing what they create and hearing their explanations for their art pieces. Creating art with kids is a great way to understand their perspective on the world, while also developing techniques to enhance their fine motor skills, creative thinking, and observational skills.

I also really enjoy going on adventures outside and taking nature walks to learn about different plants and animals. As well as collecting "treasures" such as cool rocks and sticks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is being emotionally engaged, respectful, and loving to the child you are caring for. Caring for children can be challenging, and things usually don't go according to plan. However, as long as you maintain a gentle and kind disposition and treat them with high esteem, they will feel loved and safe, which I believe is what matters most.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would always sing songs to the toddler I nannied to help her settle down to go to sleep for her nap. I would typically sing the same songs every time. One time, when I was singing to her, she started singing all the words to the songs with me. I had no idea she knew all of the words to all of these songs I had been singing to her. It was such a special and sweet moment that made me tear up a bit. In that moment, I felt like what I was doing really mattered because she must have felt loved by me when I sang to her; after all, when she sang to me, I definitely felt loved by her.
