More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have completed my Student Teaching here at Portola Elementary School in a fourth grade class, and now I am a Substitute for VUSD. In addition, I serve weekly in Kids Ministry at my church, and have been a camp counselor the past three summers for students from ages 6-17. I really enjoy working with children, and hope to have my own classroom one day!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outdoors- taking walks to local parks, beaches, or playgrounds are usual outdoor activities that I try to incorporate on a daily basis. In addition to this, I love to read, and enjoy showing kids the local libraries. I also enjoy finding arts and crafts to do, and playing imaginary with younger kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Above all, the most important part about being a nanny is the safety of the children. Physically- yes, but also mentally and emotionally. Its my priority to have children feel safe, known, and respected in my care. I feel that when we put the safety of the kids first, it leads to a more trusting and caring relationship.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a ParaEducator for Ventura Charter School in 2023. I worked with fifth and sixth grade students in a blended learning environment to advocate for their needs, and assist them in accomplishing their academic, social, and emotional goals. In addition to this, I occasionally serve as a One on One aid at my local church on Sundays for students aged 2 to 5th grade.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when I was working with two young girls (aged 4 & 2) and we read a "Fancy Nancy" book- and then played Fancy Nancy dress up! The girls had fun giving me a fashion show, dancing to music, and just being silly. I loved that a book we read inspired such a fun and creative moment for us.
