Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a nanny for 1 family of 2 children for 3 years just before having my own child (who is 9 years old now). They were 2.5 years and nearly 5 years old when I started. I helped potty train one, did homework each day with them as they got into school years, taught the eldest to ride a bike, helped the youngest get over her tantrum stage and bottle weened her, did local adventures, helped with pets and house work while the kids rested (or had them lightly help too). They had two cats I helped with too.
While nannying them, there was another family I was helping during the alternate days or hours. More part-time hours.They had 3 children, 2 boy twins and a newborn son. Also, helped with their hound dog, but no household chores beyond feeding cleanup and toy cleanup.
Years prior to those, I was a full time nanny mon-fri for a couple with a newborn. I also was a weekday afternoon/evening and holiday break nanny for a family whose children were 6 and 8 years old.

Going bowling, to museums/zoo/aquariums, to indoor playgrounds, to the beach, to local parks, to movie theaters..

My experience with special needs children...
My daughter is autistic and ADHD. She is sensory sensitive.
I worked as a daily helper at a co-op preschool and many of the kiddos there were on the spectrum as well as our friends outside of school whom we hung out with.
My next door neighbor boy is autistic and comes over occasionally to play at my house or with my daughter and I when playing outside. He is extremely high energy and impulsive.
