Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Worked at a YMCA nursery caring for children 0-10yrs old. Taught children in Sunday School and children’s church ages ranging from 3yrs old to 16 yrs old. Worked in church nursery with babies 0-12 months, 1-2 yr olds, 3 yr old class and taught Children's church for age 4-5 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Outdoors - going for walks, going to parks and playgrounds, bike riding, sports, exploring and discovering all the beauty and wonder that nature has to offer. Inside I would play with the child on their level for their age which could equate to just toys, arts & crafts, board games, engage in interests of the child whatever that may be, such as, sports, dolls, trains etc etc Can also teach the child , again depending on age, how to cook, bake, how to complete chores and tasks. Teach them to do special things for others and to be kind and be a blessing to those around them
The most important part about being a nanny...
Treating each child as an individual and learning to understand them including their likes and dislikes, their wants and their needs and what makes them tick. What is their “love language”, what makes them feel good, what makes them feel sad, mad etc. learning about the child so you can anticipate their needs. I think that overall you should be treating each and every children with respect and dignity while still maintaining order and harmony in the home
My experience with special needs children...
Worked in a Special Ed summer class. Have my bachelors degree in Social Work and knowledge of caring for these people. Worked as a caregiver for elderly mentally and physically challenged gentleman. Worked with special needs children through my volunteer work at church and encountering these children when I was teaching a class or working in the childcare/nursery areas
