The most important part about being a nanny...
Being patient as well as being kind. It’s very important to care for a child even if it’s the littlest thing. They so much reassurance and nurturing to understand that they are okay. Also speaking to them in a understandable way to let them know if something is wrong to do or good. Praise the child or let them know that’s it’s not okay by using examples like, “ no thank you “, “ i don’t like that “, “ you’re hurting me/my feelings”, “ my friend doesn’t like that” etc
My experience with special needs children...
I have zero to little experience, i have dealt with a child that was on the spectrum and we had good and hard days. most days he wanted space from everyone so i was able to do that without causing a panic for him. he did good with everything else.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Watching movies and eating snacks as well as seeing them laugh and smile :) I love when the kids find comfort in me and come to me when they fall or get hurt.
