A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Imara, and I graduated with my MBA from Western Carolina University this past December. While I’m exploring my career path, I’m looking for a nanny position where I can support a family, stay active, and do something meaningful every day.

As the oldest sibling, I naturally stepped into a caregiving role early on. I’ve been watching my younger sister for years, along with my younger cousins and family friends’ children. Because of that, I’m comfortable with kids of all ages and genuinely enjoy being part of their growth and daily routines.

I love being outdoors, staying active, going on walks, and finding creative ways to keep kids engaged. Arts and crafts, reading, and hands-on activities are some of my favorite ways to connect. I’m patient, dependable, and always make sure children feel safe, supported, and heard.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve also cared for children in a few other settings. As a former Division I softball player, I’ve given sports lessons to younger athletes, which taught me patience, communication, and how to keep kids motivated and confident. While I was injured one season, I also regularly watched my coach’s daughter, helping with daily routines and keeping her entertained during practices and games. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in childcare, responsibility, and building trust with both kids and parents.

My experience with special needs children...

I do have experience working with children with special needs. In high school, I volunteered in classrooms and programs that supported students with various learning and developmental needs, which helped me learn patience, empathy, and how to adjust activities to fit each child. I’ve also babysat for neighbors whose child was autistic, and I always focused on creating a calm, comfortable routine that supported their needs. These experiences taught me how to be flexible, understanding, and attentive to what helps each child feel safe and successful.
