A little bit about me

My name is Irene Garcia, and I’m 19 years old. I have experience caring for children of all ages, including those with autism, as well as seniors. Currently, I work at a senior retirement home, and I truly love what I do—I care deeply for the people I look after. Previously, I worked at a daycare with a friend’s family and also babysat for other families. I have a genuine passion for working with kids. I’m very reliable and handle everything around the house, from cooking to cleaning you name it, I’ll do it. I’m flexible with my time and can make myself available whenever needed, even on short notice. You can count on me to be there when you need me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I cared for children at a friend’s family daycare for one year and later worked as a nanny for other families. Additionally, I have two years of experience as a caregiver, during which I took care of seniors at a retirement home.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing all kinds of activities with children and have learned so much along the way. I enjoy arts and crafts like drawing, coloring, painting, and making simple projects. Outdoor play is also a favorite going to the park, playing tag, and riding bikes. I like educational games such as puzzles, memory games, and simple math or spelling challenges. Music and dance are a big part of my life; I’ve been dancing for eight years and even took dance classes. Cooking and baking simple recipes like cookies and decorating cupcakes is fun too. Building activities with blocks, LEGO, or other toys spark creativity. I also enjoy easy and safe science experiments, like making a volcano with baking soda and vinegar. For quiet time, puzzles, books, or watching TV are great ways to relax.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is all about more than just watching kids it’s about really connecting with them. You want to be someone they trust and feel comfortable with, so they can be themselves. Patience is huge because kids have their own moods and needs, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. Also, being flexible and creative helps a lot, whether it’s coming up with fun activities or solving little challenges. And of course, showing kindness and encouragement helps kids build confidence and feel loved every day. It’s such a rewarding role. I just love all children

My experience with special needs children...

If I’m being honest, I haven’t had much experience with special needs children, though I have cared for some children with autism. I’m willing to do my best and learn because I care deeply about all children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I saw a child I cared for learn something new and get so excited about it like the first time they rode a bike without training wheels or finished a big puzzle on their own. Those moments of growth and joy make all the effort so rewarding.
