A little bit about me

I have been doing childcare my whole adult life. I have 4 well managed
children of my own, a 21 year old medical student, twin 16 year olds and a 13 year old. I ran a daycare in our home for 18 years while my kids were growing up and since that time I have worked as a para educator in a public school. I also have provided summer childcare in our home for a number of years. I am looking for a position for the summer. I would be open to part or full time. I enjoy keeping children active with walks, crafts, library trips, and other fun educational activities. I also love a chance to cuddle a baby and sing to them! I could provide many positive references from families I have worked with in the past. I love dogs and cats are okay too.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been a para professional at an elementary school for 9 years. Before that I offered in home daycare in our home for 18 years. I also have done childcare in our home
during the summer months for the last few years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking children on walks, trips to the library, I've taken children to the pool. I also love to do crafts, cooking and science experiments. Pretty much anything fun that the kids love!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love to see kids learning new things and having a great time being a kid. Making sure that the children are safe and having fun and learning new things and know they are loved is the most important part of being a child care giver.

My experience with special needs children...

I am a para professional at an elementary school so I have some experience with autism, Down syndrome and other developmental delays. I have worked with students who need the assistance of a wheel chair and do not use the toilet independently. I believe all children deserve a loving care giver and would be open to a position with one of these amazing children with unique needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my fondest memories of working with children is....A young elementary girl who loved to help in the kitchen and she helped me fix the meals and snacks for the daycare kids. When I closed my in home daycare because we moved and prepared a cookbook for her with some of our favorite recipes. I would love to make more memories Ike this with more children.
