A little bit about me

I am a 27-year-old, living in Ridgewood Queens, New York, beginning my studies this fall at NYU as a masters of Art Therapy degree candidate (online classes due to Covid-19). Child development and care has always been a passion of mine and was a huge influence in my decision to study psychology at CUNY Hunter and eventually art therapy.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience working with children ages 6-13 in a range of areas, including babysitting, counseling at a horseback riding day camp, artistic and dance workshops, and working at a daycare center.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am always delighted to partake in arts & crafts when working with children. To name a few, my personal passions include painting, drawing, glassblowing and dancing. Alongside my studies, I currently work with a family-friendly performance troupe that has hosted many workshops for children, focused in flow-arts (hula-hoops, poi, etc). I also love the outdoors, nature and animals, so dog-walking or animal-care would be a welcomed opportunity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Childhood plays such a pivotal role in who we become as adults. My goal as a nanny is to find a family who values the creative, adventurous and curious nature of children. I look forward to engaging with a family who wishes to encourage those qualities in their young children.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have formal experience working with special needs children, however I understand the immense importance of learning each individual child's specific and unique needs in order to help them thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A child I nanny for and I brought 5 hula hoops to the park one day hoping to set up our own obstacle course. Before we could set them down, other children saw the hula hoops and rushed to our side. In the past, I had given this child many lessons on fun tricks and moves she can do with the hula hoop. One of my proudest moments was watching her take charge, as she began to lead a hula hoop workshop for the children who wanted to play. This became a normal occurrence for us after this day.
