A little bit about me

Hi! I recently moved to Indianapolis after graduating from the University of Portland with my B.S. in Communication. I came to Indy for an internship working with local government (Monday-Friday, full time). Now that the internship has come to a close, I am looking for full time nanny work. I was a paid nanny through the 2020 pandemic and the first two years of college. I love working with kids and have found nannying to be incredibly rewarding. I am rejoining this profession to help financially support my journey to law school. My goal as a nanny/babsitter is to help optimize your quality time as a parent with your kids. Because of that, not only am I focused on the kid's safety and entertainment while under my care, but I also gladly perform housekeeping tasks and homework help. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a swim instructor back in Oregon for a short time. I conducted "Mommy + Me" swim sessions as well as basic safety and classes regarding overcoming fear of water.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love baking and having the kids assist. Not only does this help teach them independence and kitchen safety, but it also results in delicious baked goods for your home.

I enjoy arts and crafts projects. Self expression and imagination are critical for early childhood development, so I like to encorporate activties that highlight those core concepts.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ensuring the safety and emotional wellbeing of the child. This goes beyond knowledge/practice of first aid or CPR. It is vital to nurture the emotions of each and every child. Creating an environment under my care where the children are able to feel safe and emotionally cared for is highly important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with a nonverbal child. My baby sign languge skills are admittedly a little rusty, but I am happy to sharpen them as needed.

I have also cared for a child with autism specturm disorder.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was a nanny for three boys and each of them invited me to their flag football tournament. They made the sweetest cards asking me to go, as it was on a Saturday outside of my normal hours. After the game they all ran up to me and it was so wholesome. I loved getting to watch them do their touchdown dances we had practiced the week prior.
