More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have and still do volunteer teaching opportunities with children of all ages. I do a yearly composting project where I educate kids between the ages of 4 and 16 on what composting is and why it's helpful to the environment. I was also a TA for a Robotics class at my school with kids from 16-19.
I was also a in-house summer long nanny for two children one with ADHD and another with Autism.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
If I spend time with an individual child I get to know what they enjoy doing and tend to do those kinds of activities, even incorporating their interests into tasks like cleaning their room.
One of my students really enjoyed video games so I made what was essentially D&D for daily tasks. He would "earn coins" and "be given a quest" as he did his work and thoroughly enjoyed the class time.
With more than one child I like to play what I call Mini Games. Games with simple rules where scores are never kept and that each kid has a fair chance at winning the round.
I usually enjoy baking something with the kids, doing the dishes, of course, dancing with them to their favorite music, walking pets with them, and just getting to know them as individuals.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being any form of support and resource the family and the children need. Every single child deserves attention, affection, and any help they need. Sometimes we don't have time to be with them all day and I would be thrilled to step up when needed and be sure that they are safe, happy, and in bed at bedtime. :)
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with Autism, Down syndrome, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, DID, and ADHD.
I have had direct experiences with children who have any of the above diagnoses. Every child deserves the care and attention they need and I am always willing to grow and learn more per individual needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...
When I created a game to help the kids enjoy picking up the nerf darts off of the floor and they preferred that over actually shooting the darts. They spent a good few hours collecting and dumping the darts back out to start all over again.
I think my second favorite memory is when the kids get attached to their daily chapter I would read to them and the second it turned 6:30 (reading time) there would be a scramble to find a comfortable place on the couch. They made sure that I would never forget reading time.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Ellensburg, WA: Bailee S.
Hello, my names Bailee and I'm a super outgoing creative person. I love all things arts and crafts and believe that a hands on learning is the most important thing for children. Instead of spending time watching TV, I'd rather go outside or finger paint ( with washable paint!). I love baking and cooking, I find that children love to help with baking. Getting a little messy is healthy.
Thank you and I can't wait to hear from you!
