While working with my second family, I took another job working at the child’s school. Out on the playground one day we noticed a tiny baby turtle on the sidewalk. We were afraid one of the children would step on it so I picked it up and removed it from the playground while children surrounded me asking to see or pet it. The girl I took care of was extremely grossed out that I had touched it and told her parents that night that I was “brave but gross” I was happy to take the sort of compliment
