More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have several years of hands-on experience working with children of all ages, including those with special needs. As a former behavior technician, I provided one-on-one support to children with autism and other developmental challenges, helping them build communication, social, and daily living skills through structured, compassionate care. I’ve also worked as a nanny for various families, where I managed daily routines, supported homework and learning, and created a safe, nurturing environment. Earlier in my journey, I volunteered as a teacher’s aide in elementary classrooms, assisting with class activities and offering extra help to students who needed more support. This combination of behavioral, academic, and caregiving experience has given me a strong foundation in both child development and family support.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging with children through creative and hands-on activities. Some of my favorite things to do include reading storybooks together, doing arts and crafts, playing pretend games, and singing songs with movement. I enjoy going outside for nature walks or park time and encouraging exploration and curiosity. I also like baking simple treats with kids, helping with homework in a fun and supportive way, and creating a calm environment through things like kid-friendly yoga or quiet time activities. My goal is always to make each day feel fun, safe, and meaningful.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe, nurturing space where a child feels seen, supported, and free to be themselves. It’s not just about routines and care. It’s about forming a bond, showing up consistently with patience and love, and helping each child grow with confidence. When a child knows they’re safe and understood, everything else like learning, fun, and growth, naturally follows.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked with children with a range of special needs, including those on the autism spectrum, children with ADHD, speech and language delays, and sensory processing challenges. Through my experience as a behavior technician, I supported children using ABA-based strategies, helped with emotional regulation, and encouraged the development of communication and social skills. I’ve also worked one-on-one in home and school settings, adapting to each child’s unique needs while creating a nurturing, structured environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when the little girl I cared for lost her first tooth. She had been nervous about it for days and worried it would hurt or that something was wrong. I reassured her with gentle explanations, silly stories about the tooth fairy, and even showed her videos of other kids losing theirs. When it finally came out during snack time, she wore a huge smile and said, ‘That didn’t even hurt!’ We made a big deal out of it with a special note for the tooth fairy and a little celebration. Watching her go from scared to proud was such a sweet and special moment
