Hiii I’m Jada and I love animals, kids, and Jesus! I’m 20 years old and have cared for animals and kids for a big part of my life. (I have three younger siblings lol). More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a camp for special needs adults and children for a while. I have dealt with and experienced lots of different needs of children all the way up to making meals for purées (and the consistencies), to chopped. I also have knowledge regarding dietary restrictions ( like Celiac, lactose, vegan etc) and the importance/ maintenance of a clean environment. I developed amazing socializing/communication skills for those who aren’t able to exactly express themselves in obvious ways and even learned ASL to have basic conversations with the deaf.
I babysitted a kid for 5 years. Since she was 14 days old all the way up to five years old. ( I also took care of their dogs while parents were gone as well) I was one of the main support the kid got on how to learn how to talk, walk, learn hygiene techniques as she got older. I also prepared fun and safe actives like easy baking, and much more. Unfortunately parents and the kid moved away and I can’t care for them anymore.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to parks, baking/cooking, playing board games, playing hide and seek, Bible studies, and reading stories.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a good and honest person. Put forth a bunch of effort when it comes to kids (or anything that you work for in that matter) and nothing less. Be there as reliable support to a child. Help them be comfortable, happy, and grow beyond their expectations!

My experience with special needs children...

Deaf/Autistic/Non-verbal

The most important part about being a nanny...

At my workplace I had my very first conversation with a deaf kid by using ASL. He was about 10-12 years of age. Not a lot of people put in effort to talk to him so he just sat in silence most of the day. I decided to do a lot of homework one night and go back to work the next day to be able to have basic conversation. When I tried signing to him he was just surprised! I probably didn’t do so good haha.. but I did my best. You could tell how happy he was to be able to talk and someone listen. That day was one of my best memories ever! :)
