A little bit about me

I am an 18 year old college student who has always had a passion for working with kids. I was inspired just by after school and summer camp programs. They were so charismatic and compassionate. It was a no-brainer in my mind that I wanted to be like them when I was older. I major in theatre with a minor in child care. My hobbies include shopping, reading, writing, acting, and spending time with loved ones. My schedule is fairly flexible. I do go to school Monday through Friday. My school schedule is 9-3:15 (Monday and Wednesday), 4:15-5:40 (Tuesday and Thursday) and 9-11:40 (Friday). I have full availability on weekends.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a volunteer at a library in [phone number hidden]. I was responsible for the child’s well-being as well as helping him how to read and write.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Duck Duck Goose, It is very fun and the kids have fun chasing each other and it keeps them occupied for a while. Another game is “telephone” essentially you whisper a random sentence/phrase and it’s goes in a circle from child to child and by the end the whole phrase is misconstrued. It is very fun and it helps with memory skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My main priority is to make sure that the child feels comfortable with me. If a child doesn’t feel comfortable there should be no reason for me to continue as a nanny. I also think it’s important to establish a connection, almost as if we are ‘friends’.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When it is time to put a child to relax or sleep and they randomly say “I love you.” It is really heartwarming because you are bringing positivity and a sense of joy into their life.
