Hi there! I'm Jakyra, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be here! I have always been passionate about working with children, which led me to take several child development courses during high school. These classes have deepened my understanding of children's needs and development stages. I'm excited to start working with kids, applying my knowledge and enthusiasm to make a positive impact in their lives.

I'm a big believer in making learning fun and engaging, and I'm always coming up with creative activities to keep the little ones entertained. I'm also super patient and understanding, and I know how to handle tantrums and meltdowns with a calm and positive attitude.

When I'm not around with kids, I love to bunker down with my sister and watch romcoms. I'm also a huge fan of baking and crafting, though I’ve heard my brownies are good but my crafting…not so much.

I may not be the most skilled crafter but making things with my creativity gives me a spark. it’s fulfilling to see the idea in your head come to life, even if there is some flaws. Arts & crafts help kids develop their creativity, fine motor skills, problem-solving, self-expression, confidence, social skills, and stress relief. It's basically a win-win for their brains and hearts!

Baking with kids is a blast because it's messy, delicious, and a great way to bond! They get to crack eggs, mix batter, and sprinkle toppings – all while creating something yummy to share. Plus, it's a fun way to sneak in some learning about math, science, and following instructions. The clean up is always worth it!

Reading together with kids is like building a bridge of love and learning. It's a way to connect, share adventures, and spark imaginations. As you turn the pages, you're not just reading words, you're building a foundation for a lifelong love of reading and a closer bond with your child.

The most important part of being a babysitter/nanny is ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in my care. This means staying attentive, following any specific instructions, and maintaining a positive and nurturing environment. It's my responsibility to help you out as much as possible, whether that means engaging the kids in fun and educational activities, preparing meals, or adhering to bedtime routines. My goal is to provide peace of mind for you, knowing that your children are in good hands.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment? Easy. It was a simple movie night. We had spaghetti together, picked out our favorite snacks, and even whipped up a crazy concoction of lemonade and fruit punch. Compared to all the other hectic days, this one was pure magic. We snuggled up on the couch and watched the brand new Phineas and Ferb movie. It was amazing to see a show I grew up loving come full circle, and it was even more special to see it through the eyes of a 4-year-old who was just discovering it. We were both on the edge of our seats, totally enthralled. Some might think a 15-year-old and a 4-year-old wouldn't have much in common, but that night, with the "5-star" spaghetti, the questionable juice, and the shared excitement of the movie, our bond couldn't have been stronger.
