A little bit about me

My names is James, I’m a certified reflexology that works at the Natural Health Improvement Center in Bettendorf. My passions are health and wellness in many forms, and mental health is a big part of that. My journey started with general caregiving and activities planning for a day care for kids with special needs. From here I worked into elderly care that led me to pursue a nursing career. After being uncomfortable with how we use medication in the nursing scene, I moved onto behavioral health with kids with special needs. I took it a step further and integrated my ABA training into a preschool to teach kids with severe autism basic skills to help them participate in a school setting. I have extensive knowledge on how behaviors are created and love helping kids be able to communicate their needs using these tactics. I also have a love for play based learning which leaves more than just a robotic style of teaching, and invites genuine bonding and fun into the mix.
