A little bit about me

Hi there! I would like to start off with that I have not had a formal nanny job before but have a lot of experience with children and love interacting and caring for energetic and fun kids! I have done a lot of volunteer work with children, from volunteering in classrooms, teaching recreational classes and sports to children ages 5-12, and have even volunteered continuously at a nursery for children between the ages of newborn to 5 years. My partner and I recently relocated to Chico due to his job and I am looking for something part time and enjoyable. I love arts and crafts, reading, and for kids that like to sing and dance I will never pass up a pick up karaoke session! I love animals so if you have pets I am ready to help your family with all your little ones, even the four legged kinds! I am also a part time online student so if your child needs help with tutoring or homework in between the fun I can make sure to include that in our day as well!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at a nursery at Shadow Mountain Community Church.
I coached volleyball for young children through a club program called Little Starlings.
I taught for a program called S.T.I.N.G (Student Teachers Igniting the Next Generation) where I created a class for elementary aged kids to encourage education.
I volunteered with sports clinics for at risk youth.

The most important part of being a nanny is being someone that the child looks forward to seeing. I love being able to make kids laugh and smile and just have a fun time and hopefully they look forward to the times when their parents can't be there instead of feeling alone.

My favorite interaction with a child under my care was when I volunteered at the Nursery at my church. There was the sweetest little boy who was generally picked on by the others because he wasn't interested in the jungle gym outside, he wanted to stay inside and read. So we stayed inside and read children's books together and later I found out when I no longer volunteered there he would try to get others to read with him because he liked reading with other people.
