More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the oldest of 6 siblings, I am a mother of 3 and an auntie of 13! I have been caring for children all my life. Now I have a grandson that I am very excited to get to know. Kids respond well to me. You just have to make your expectations of them clear and give them lots of praise and positive interaction. My father is a special education teacher and I have just always been in a position to care for children in some aspect or another. I have helped many of my friends raise their children, who call me "Auntie Jamie". I love children and they love me.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Whatever kids like to do, that's what I get invested in. That's how you get them to think you're cool! But I like all kinds of activities, especially cheering them on at one of their events.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is finding that perfect dynamic between parent and caregiver. When the communication is effective, the expectations clear, and mutual respect given for one another's specific role and duties, an organic environment develops where the children feel stability, security, and routine. The nanny is the cornerstone in creating this special relationship. If she falters, the situation is not all that it could be and should be, and the children are deprived of what they deserve, which is the very best.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with ADD/ADHD, Bipolar, anxiety issues, and other emotional/behavioral difficulties.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite moment would have to be my two boys in Boulder, CO, Cody and Dillon. Even though it was nearly 30 years ago, when they made Mother's Day cards at school, they made them for me! It melted my heart. I still have those cards to this day.
