More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a Teacher’s Aide for one school year working hands on with 5-7 classrooms at a time Monday-Friday in the mornings for Early Risers Program and after school for the After School Program. I dealt with many different children of different ages, behaviors and ethnicity. Furthermore, I have been a Caregiver for over two years taking care of the elderly and the disabled which to me goes hand and hand with caring for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor treasure hunts, Indoor camping, Bean bag toss, musical chairs, reading stories, movie night, math card games and family card games such as Uno.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me about being a nanny is being reliable not only for the parents but for the children as well. Having compassion for the children as you would your own children, making sure the children stay on the schedule that suites their parents schedules, the ability to make close and trusting relationships with parents and children, a good imagination to plan activities that are fun and help developmen, the ability to cope with unexpected situations, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and
lots of energy and stamina. Also, having the ability to be an integral part of the child’s development because I will spend a significant amount of time out of the day with the child it helps me realize the influence I have on the child’s life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have only cared for one child with special needs he had a behavior disorder and most of the time I had to give more attention to him than the other kids and really focus onto him because he required hands on learning. It wasn’t that bad, he was actually a very sweet kid.
