I’m Jaye—a mother of two young women with 15+ years of nanny experience and years in daycare with infants and toddlers. I’ve cared for newborns, infants, toddlers, girls, and children with special needs. I’m CPR certified and have a clean driving record with 10+ years without a ticket or accident.

I love children and enjoy being part of their growth—feeding, naps, play, developmental activities, school routines and outings. I believe children need patience, consistency, attention and care.

I also spent 30+ years as an executive assistant to execs at well known companies. I’m skilled at anticipating needs, managing schedules, solving problems and protecting confidentiality. And then there’s the other side of me: I LOVE babies and children! Strange mix, I know, but I simply love taking care of folks in general.

I specialize in caring for newborns, infants, toddlers, girls, (love boys too!) and children with special needs. I’m CPR certified, dependable, attentive, and comfortable managing daily routines, meals, activities, transportation, appointments, and the many details that come with caring for children. My professional background as a retired Executive Assistant has also made me highly organized, responsible, and trustworthy. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping kids busy, happy, and engaged! I’m all about mixing fun, learning, and getting out of the house. I enjoy crafts, reading, homework, movies, singing, and finding creative ways to make everyday moments fun. I love outdoor adventures too—going to the beach, parks, building a snowman, exploring downtown, running errands together, or discovering something new around Chicago. I also love museums, zoos, theaters, trying new restaurants, and tasting new foods. Chicago is such an amazing city, and there is always something new to explore! I have just as much fun experiencing these things as the kids do. I love letting children be curious, ask questions, and get involved. I’m a mom of two, ages 20 and 16, so I know what it takes to keep children engaged at different ages and stages. I especially love teaching kids something new and watching their excitement when they discover something special.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with different needs, including children on the autism spectrum and children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

I understand that every child is unique, and I take the time to learn their individual personality, communication style, routines, and interests. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting activities so each child feels included, understood, and supported. I genuinely enjoy getting to know children and finding the things that make them feel confident, comfortable, and excited to participate.

My goal is always to create a safe, positive environment where children can be themselves, have fun, learn, and thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was with a little boy I cared for who was around four years old and still preferred using his hands to eat.

I started patiently working with him on using a fork, making it fun and encouraging rather than turning it into a struggle. Over time, he got the hang of it—and I’ll never forget how proud and excited he was when he successfully used his fork and made sure I knew he had done it! Those little milestones are some of my favorite parts of caring for children. I love giving them the encouragement and confidence to learn new skills and watching how proud they are when they realize, “I did it!”
