I formally worked at Step By Step School in Hoboken, NJ for 2 years, as head teacher in the one-year-old program. After leaving SBSS, I took on a nanny position for one of the families I cared for during my time there. It's been a lovely 2 years and an honorable experience to watch the kids grow and help through their every milestone.

I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible as long as weather permits. There's nothing like a change of scenery and fresh air. Going to the park is my favorite, it allows the child to explore and learn how to associate themselves with other children. Long walks in the neighborhood. Crafts are another favorite thing to do, helping the children with sensory and creativity.

The most important part about being a nanny is the responsibility and trustworthiness. Not only is it rewarding to have the trust of the parents to care for their child but, the trust you gain from the child themselves. I'm very dependable and being responsible for the child's everyday needs is important to me.

My favorite nanny moment would have to be experiencing the child's developmental milestones. Teaching them to walk, talk, and have basic life skills. And getting to watch them become their own person. Seeing their personalities come out more and more through interaction.
