I’m a loving, dependable, and experienced mother, grandmother, and childcare provider who truly enjoys caring for children. I raised five children and now help care for my seven grandchildren, ages 6 months to 4½ years.
For the past 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with four local families, providing reliable, loving care and becoming a trusted part of their families’ lives.
I’m looking for a part-time afternoon position, ideally with children age 5 and older. I’m patient, caring, organized, punctual, energetic, and responsible. I enjoy reading, music, animals, the outdoors, and creating fun, engaging activities for children.
I’m happy to help with homework, snacks, activities, transportation, and keeping children safe, happy, and engaged. I understand how important it is for parents to have someone they can trust, and I would love the opportunity to become that person for your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have many years of experience working with children of all ages. While raising my own children, I volunteered in the church nursery and taught Sunday School from preschool through high school. I also co-led Confirmation classes and helped organize and chaperone Girl Scout outings.

These experiences taught me how to connect with children of different ages and personalities, keep them engaged, encourage learning and independence, and create a safe and positive environment. I truly enjoy spending time with children, helping them learn and grow, and making everyday activities fun and meaningful.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping children active, curious, and engaged both indoors and outdoors. Some of my favorite activities include taking walks, playing outdoor games, exploring and observing nature, doing arts and crafts, reading together, and baking cookies. I enjoy creating simple, fun activities that encourage creativity, learning, and lots of smiles.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me is that children feel safe, loved, respected, and comfortable being themselves. I want to be someone they can trust and count on, while also making their time with me fun, engaging, and meaningful.

I enjoy getting to know each child’s unique personality and interests, encouraging their curiosity and independence, and creating opportunities for them to learn, explore, and have fun. Building a trusting relationship with both the children and their parents is very important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with a variety of individual medical and emotional needs. One family I worked with had two boys, ages 5 and 6. The older child had diabetes, and I was trusted to monitor his blood sugar and administer insulin when needed.

I have also cared for a 10-year-old boy and a high school-aged girl who experienced significant anxiety around germs and contamination. I provided calm, patient, and reassuring support while following each family’s routines and guidelines. These experiences taught me to be especially observant, compassionate, patient, and understanding of each child’s individual needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories was with a kindergartner I cared for. It was one of our first days together, and we walked from his house to the library. We didn’t know each other very well yet, but he quickly discovered that I loved reading to him.

He would choose a book, and I would read it to him. Then he would go pick out another one, and we would read that together. Before we knew it, we had been there for almost two hours! I finally told him it was time to head home, but before we left, he carefully picked out four or five books to bring home.

When we got back to his house, he was so excited about his books that he wanted me to read every single one of them. It was such a simple afternoon, but it became a wonderful memory for me. I loved seeing his excitement about books and realizing that, even on one of our first days together, we had already developed a special connection.
