A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Jenna, I am 20 years old and have recently graduated high school and have been looking forward to making childcare my full time career! I grew up with my mom being an early education teacher at my own school before she started her own daycare center for infants-5years a while back. In those 6 years, I have been able to have daily interaction with children of all ages, abilities and skills! I started caring for children on my own when I was around 15 and I consistently have provided care for many other families since. I am also currently pregnant and due early October so after a short time of rest, I would love to bring them along to be able to stay close with me and interact with other children but it is possible that some or all days he stay with my mom at her daycare while I work! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have helped coach children aged 4-6 in youth soccer as a volunteer. I have always been involved with my moms daycare as well as helping out in other in-home daycares around my area:)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite indoor activities include creative play like creating play scenes (pirate ships or castles) as well as arts and crafts to expand the imagination:) When the weather allows I love letting the kids get messy outside and explore the nature around them. One of my favorites personal activities is baking so if the children are interested I love having them in the kitchen!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny would be being able to support each family in the unique way that they need. Being able to help parents in certain areas but also learning from them and their child is something I look forward to. Having a connection with the child is also important for supportive play and learning.

My experience with special needs children...

I have an autistic brother so I have been very open to watching children with different abilities. I did watch another little boy aged 3 who was also on the spectrum and had sensory and feeding difficulties for a short summer before he started school. I am always open to learning about any way I can help children and let them learn their own way!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with kids are when their discovery they CAN do something. I love working their little minds and watching them learn on their own terms. Seeing how proud they are when they are able to be independent is the best! I love being able to enable them to do things themselves:)
