Hi! My name is Jennie. I’m a 51 year old mother of 4. My kids are 10, 15, 17, and 25. I just relocated from Sarasota, Fl after living there 23 years. I owned a furniture/home decor shop for 10 years, and I was a nanny for about 20 years before that. I’m still very close to all the children I was a nanny for, and their parents. I’m looking for a long term position with a fun loving family who is laid back, and flexible. I started teaching pre-school when I was just out of high school. Then after that I was a professional nanny for many years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m very crafty! I owned my own home decor/furniture shop, and taught a furniture painting class! I love being outdoors, and love to garden. I also love to cook!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I want the children to feel safe and secure around me, but also have a great time! I’m very strict on teaching manners, and positive reinforce, but also want to gain respect from the children. I also feel very strongly about the nanny and the parents being on the same page when it comes to morals, and discipline.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a step brother with Down’s syndrome. So I’m very experienced with this.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Well, I was with the same family for 10 years. 4 girls. They were babies when I started, and now all but one has graduated college. To this day, they will call or text me and thank me for teaching them certain things, or they will still call me for advice. I remember one thing in particular that stands out. One of the little girls, Lauren, about 3 years old at the time, wouldn’t go back to sleep until she talked to me. It was 2am, and her mom called me, and I talked to her over the phone, because she had a bad dream. She went right to sleep after that. 😊
