A young girl joined our class in the middle of the year and was insecure about meeting everyone. She loved drawing dragons so I coached her to meet with everyone in small groups to turn them into dragons in her world of drawings. She drew every single student before she transferred out of the class (they ultimately moved). Her drawings made the others kids feel more seen and she also felt like she was making a real connection because she was using her own tools to meet them halfway.
