The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part is making sure the child feels safe and loved. I want them to know they can trust me, have fun, and be themselves. I also think trust and communication with the parents is really important because they need to feel comfortable knowing their child is being taken care of. As a mother of three, I understand the significance of having 100% faith and trust in the person you’re allowing to care for your babies.
My experience with special needs children...
I understand the importance of patience, understanding, compassion and giving a safe space to their individual needs and abilities.
That being said, my son is high in the spectrum for autism, he has a speech delay and adhd.
I’ve done quiet reading, predictable routines, sensory play, I’ve created visual schedules as well as movement games for children’s attention deficit, short crafts, obstacle courses, etc
Picture books and pointing games, music, picture choice activities for limited speech, and for mobility challenges, of course the accessible playgrounds, seated games, and adaptable art.

I believe the funniest moment I’ve ever experienced was when one of my 10 year olds in my 5th grade classrooms asked what “puberty” was and began to name off all the different things he assumed it was, and said that puberty sounded like a Disney Villain. 😂
