Yes i Volunteer in my younger days at the YMCA summer program. I also used to work in my aunt's day care when I was 18-20. I'm currently a care provider for seniors in the evenings.

I try to keep the children busy. Games, Reading books, Educational programs, Coloring. Playing outside running around. Prefer no swimming pools only sprinkler like water toys. I also like to interact and talk About their day. Anything to keep them busy.

I think the most important part about being a nanny is Showing compassion, Love. Being a positive and nurturing person in their lives. Being someone they will remember when they get older.
My experience with special needs children...
My daughter is 22 years old and She Has a disability. She was diagnosed with displeasia. She walked like a ballerina when she was a little girl and had surgery when she was 16 years old. So I wouldn't Consider it special needs She does have a disability.
