"Jennifer has taken care of all my children for over 20 yrs off and on. She is dependable and loving ,nurturing. I now have grandkids and my children and I would trust her to care of them without a doubt. At one time I traveled outside of the country and left them in her capable hands and she drove them to practices , games, grocery shopping, and even a hospital visit because my little boy was really sick with a bad cold.Jennifer called me ,texted and kept me in the know about the goings on of the kids. You would be very lucky to have her. She is family now and forever!"

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I come from a family of artist and musicians. I personally spent all of my academic schooling involved with dramatic and performance theater and art. I also attended a Juliard satellite school specifically for art. After HS, I spent time writing poetry and music. I attended film school and spent 10 yrs as a director and producer in broadcast television and web series. I also dedicated 3 years to the studies of child psychology and child development.
Besides creative interest and pursuits and psychology, l love topics surrounding science, math and reading.
I like to incorporate fun, engaging, educational, creative and developmentally beneficial activities simultaneously.
I believe my years of experience with children and all of my personal ventures, schooling and interest throughout my life blend well together so kids are never bored.
Screen and TV time isn’t necessary when I’m caring for children.

My experience with special needs children...
I grew up with a developmentally disabled younger sibling and helped care for her.
When I worked at the YMCA as the Assistant Program Director I filled in as a 1 on 1 staff for an autistic 5 yr old for a school year.
I was a teachers assistant at a United Cerebral Palsey school. I did my first school year as an art assistant and my second school year as a teachers assistant with a 1 on 1 for an 18yr old student who was wheelchair bound, paralyzed with the exception of 1 hand and arm from the elbow down and was non-verbal.
My last live in Nanny position, the child was diagnosed autistic young.
I implemented all my psychology, behavioral and cognitive developmental education with these children. I created visual aids which implemented my artistic background.

The most important part about being a nanny...
1) Recently, I saw the 1st family at their Mom’s 50th birthday and the girls I raised at 5, 4 and 1.5 and years later the brother. They’re all grown up and 2 have children of their own. They call me Aunt. They’re forever family. It made me so happy and emotional in a wonderful way.
2) My most recent live in nanny position I held, A boy I cared for from birth until 4yrs old has held so many favorite moments for me. He’s Autistic which delayed his speech and development about 1.5 yrs. He’s now 5. I visited him 4 months ago for his 5th birthday. In 1 year he had so many big development breakthroughs. Sadly, he still couldn’t write or spell. Since June his Mom has sent me pictures regularly. He started writing Mickey Mouse and all his friend’s names along with Walt Disney and Pixar on his own. He seemingly put 2 and 2 together and started writing his favorite character's names. He’s writing his name now too. I cried. I was in awe and so excited for this major breakthrough.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Poughkeepsie, NY: Ginger M.
I'm a current sophomore at Vassar College studying Art History. I've been babysitting since I was 11, usually for multiple children between 2 and 9. I worked as a life guard and swim instructor, teaching lessons to children from as young as 10 months to teenagers (including children with disabilities). I currently work as a museum tour guide. Luckily, my current position focuses a lot on giving tours to elementary-aged children developing comfortability in a museum setting. I've always had a passion for working with children, especially in an educational setting. I'm more than a competent cook, an excellent baker, and I don't mind housework at all. I look forward to connecting!

I'm originally from Maryland, but attended Duquesne for my undergrad and now I am living up here! I am a very much people person as I have six years within customer service retail experience! I grew up being a ballet dancer so I definitely have passion and art skills when needed! I also love traveling and have been to nine European countries so far! I am very engaging within activities for emotional and developmental needs for any age. I love housekeeping especially my house as I am a neat freak sometimes. I meal prep on my own and I would love to do so for others as nutrtion was a huge thing for me to grow up around! I have only ever cared growing up for ages within elementary school. That is a little about me and I hope I can tell you more about me later on!
