Hello! I am Breanne, a 37 year old Recreation professional that has a combined 23 years experience working with children ages 5 months-16 years. I have spent times of my professional life moonlighting in restaurants and love creating crafty foods with the kiddos that teach them about nutrition. My next professional move is beginning a non-profit that builds and creates programs about food growth and consumption in food deserts.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I ran a Recreation center for 4 years after supplementing recreation programs for the organization I worked with for over 7 years.

I have been teaching dance for 23 years beginning at various levels including creative movement for ages 2-4 and up to pre-professional and conservatory bound education n ballet and modern dance.

I taught pre-school after college and discovered hands on developmental needs of toddlers and young people.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Running around being silly, teaching life skills, teaching academics, crafting, cooking, and anything we can think of that is reasonably safe and wildly interesting. Nature walks are always a hit!

Keeping the kiddos safe and engaged in life. Being trusted by the child(ren) and being on the team with the parents.

My experience with special needs children...

Experience with children in Non-Verbal Autism, CP, ADHD, and severe behavior circumstances. Trained in horticultural therapy and basic child development therapy practices through NC State and life experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Who doesn't love a break-through? My favorite moments are when my kiddos discovery a new skill, movement, or understanding about this big ol' world. Highlights include hearing my babies talk and start moving independently, and when the (pre)teens who didn't think they needed me come up big in the department of wanting a sounding board in the emotional intelligence realm. Building the trust of a troubled or misunderstood child is always touching as well.
