More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked as a teacher assistant, certified daycare teacher (trained through Bright Horizons), tutor, and home health aide. My experience includes school pickups, appointments, homework help, public transportation, and previously driving children. As a visual artist, I encourage creativity through engaging, low-mess art projects and imaginative storytelling. I have experience with children on the autism spectrum, sleep training, potty training, infant care, tummy time, crawling and walking milestones, baby massage, infant Pilates, speech and communication development, memory games, and play-based learning that supports healthy brain development. I create fun, structured, age-appropriate activities that build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating fun, enriching experiences based on each child's age, interests, and developmental stage. I use the BabySparks app for age-appropriate milestone activities and enjoy arts and crafts, imaginative play, storytelling, music, dance, yoga, sensory play, and outdoor adventures. As a visual artist, I encourage creativity in fun, low-mess ways that build confidence and self-expression. I also love exploring museums, libraries, parks, and the city with children, turning everyday outings into exciting learning experiences. Whether I'm cheering them on at sports or dance practice, helping them reach new milestones, or simply following their curiosity, my goal is to make every day meaningful, educational, and full of joy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, being a nanny means becoming a trusted member of the family's team. Open communication with parents, setting weekly goals, and maintaining consistent routines help children feel safe, confident, and understood. I believe structure creates the freedom for children to explore, have fun, and grow. My goal is to nurture every kind of intelligence—creative, emotional, social, physical, and academic—while respecting each family's values, routines, and parenting style. When children feel secure, they thrive.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for children on the autism spectrum and children with ADHD, including toddlers and children ages 4–6. I also gained pediatric experience at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia. My background includes home health aide training, specialized coursework in therapeutic and play-based interactions, and a bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Health Science. I provide patient, structured, and individualized care while adapting activities, communication, and routines to support each child's unique strengths, needs, and developmental goals.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was hearing a child proudly tell their friend that I was their favorite nanny—it completely melted my heart. I also cherish the little moments when children tell me they love me or run to greet me with a hug. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a child reach a milestone we've been working toward, whether it's taking their first steps, potty training, gaining confidence, or earning an award at school. Watching children grow, learn, and believe in themselves is why I love what I do.
