A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Jessica Gomez. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am fluent in English and Spanish. Over the last four years I have taught 1st grade and worked closely with students from kindergarten to 2nd grade.

Families I’ve worked with I the past love that I have an open communication with them and I am completely transparent. I have my personal set of rules and values, however, I respect and accommodate to each families beliefs and rules too. I like to build friendships with the kids but keep our relationship professional. Children always know when it’s play time and when it’s time to get things done. I am very compassionate and playful, but I am also firm when I need to be. I love reading to children and I enjoy any hands on activities. Needless to say, I love curious children!

In my personal time I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I love hiking, camping, skiing, exploring historic sites and cooking.
