More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I used to hold the babies during church service and keep them calm, or younger children by doing activities with them. I have also used to babysit for neighbors and extended family when I was around 13. During the times that I would care for the kiddos I made sure that they had brain stimulating activities that were fun but let them learn, as well as play time and whatever the parent would like done.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing arts and crafts and going outside or to the park for a change of scenery. I also try to make clean up time fun so they can enjoy it too.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Doing what the parent wants and learning about the child so we can be comfortable with each other. Also it is very important to be understanding and have patience. Mistakes will happen and that’s okay!
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have any experience with special needs children outside of the family/friends dynamic, but I have babysat a 5yr with down syndrome. However, I do work with a few adult patients that have special needs at my skilled facility. That being said I am comfortable caring for children that have motor disabilities. I know children and adults are different but just have to be the right fit.
