About a year ago I had the opportunity of being a lifeguard and swim teacher. Although this wasn’t unsupervised childcare, I built in many safety skills with these kids, and even helped a little boy to get over his severe fear of water after about 8 lessons.

I have very little experience with special needs children, but about five years ago I had the opportunity to be a peer tutor in the special needs classroom, which included accompanying my special needs peers to their classes and assisting them with their questions and any issues that arose.
