A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Jocelyn Rowland & I’m 43 years old. I’m a mother of 3 sons ages 25, 16 & 9 yrs old. I also have a total of 6 God daughters. I started babysitting at the age of 11 yrs old. That was my first real job. I would babysit for family during the Summer as well as others on the weekends. At the age of 18 I had my oldest son. I love to read to the children & play little games with them & my all time favorite is coloring.
Even though I had my son at a young age, I’d still take on the job to babysit other young ladies or couples children that couldn’t afford daycare. After that time I start to work at Ms. Ann’s daycare in Lebanon, TN for about six years. I then went to college for the Medical Field and graduated in 2008. My house is the place that all the children in the neighborhood like to come to play with my sons. I’m currently Disabled and would just like to get back to work part time, so I can get out and enjoy doing what I love and that’s working with others.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

• I have three sons of my own ages 27, 18 & 10 years old.
• I started my own small Nanny company at 12 years old, after babysitting for family members & a few of their friends. A few of my friends & I wanted to make money of our own & created our own small babysitting buisness.
• I worked as a daycare teacher for Infants, Toddlers & Pre-School for almost 10 years in Lebanon, TN
• I love children, animals & I don't mind helping in anyway that I can, so I don't mind some light cooking & cleaning after. Everyone has their own way of taking care of their children, so with me that is the way things will be handled.
• I am also a nurse & a Medical Biller & Coding Graduate, so I do know CPR, How to take blood pressure, give shots & a very quick learner for anyone who has a child with special needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing anything indoors. Board games etc. I also like to learn & teach new activities.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for many different children with special needs. Each child is different, as well as their parents. I know all of the main things needed, but whatever way the parents suggest is always the best way to take care of a child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments would be while working at the daycare the Pre-School students would love to come to my class each day & have me read Green Eggs & Ham fast each day & also singing with them.
