Hello, I am Jordan I have experience working with special needs children ages 2-17 and experience working with special needs adults 18-22. I have residential care experience working on ADLs, functional living skills as well as I currently work in a medical clinic where I work with young children on the spectrum work towards their goals to help them transition back to a school setting. I am flexible and hard working, I have experience working with extremely aggressive clients, and work through the behavioral episodes with the client the best I can with the resources provided, I am always willing to tackle a challenge and work towards progress. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at Chileda from April 2022-July 2024, in my time working there I began as a Direct support professional working specifically with teenage boys on the Autism Spectrum Disorder; my job duties were to teach clients functional living skills, provide them enriching games and exercises, as well as assist them in hygiene practices. I worked my way up to being a lead in my house, and then I was given a promotion to Health and Wellness Care Professional, where I was able to service the entire campus and provide basic First Aid, CPR and Abdominal Thrusts as needed, prepare and distribute over 40 different clients various medications within state compliance.
I currently work at Partners in Excellence, I began working there in July of 2024 and I work with clients to prepare them for school, work on toileting and teach them functional communication tools to use rather than engage in inappropriate behaviors.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I particularly enjoy teaching children about nature and implementing nature into my play and teaching, I currently teach a Peer Play group at P.I.E. I try to find common interests between children to motivate them to work together to play and or complete a common goal, such as using flowers, sticks, grass and “paint” with nature on a paper banner to make crafting fun as well as teach them the importance of teamwork.

I have four years working with special needs children and adults. I have experience working with children with ASD, RAD, ODD, PICA, Bipolar Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and OCD.
