I was a children's basketball coach for 1 season (about 3 months). I also run a professional character entertainment company and work with children ranging in ages from infants all the way up to teens every weekend.

My favorite activities include going for walks, doing puzzles, coloring, word-searches, practicing writing, and reading. For younger children, any type of activities or toys/games that exercise their brains are always fun!

The most important part about being a nanny is taking into account what interests the children. From there, it's all about creativity, setting appropriate boundaries, and partaking in healthy communication.

I've worked with people who have special needs for a total of about 3 years. From teaching social skills to practicing decision-making and exploring independence... My favorite experiences have been with children who have special needs. I've learned so much about patience and different ways to communicate.
