A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Josephine! I am 19 and I currently attend the University of Northern Colorado! I am majoring in special education and minoring in American Sign Language. I am truly passionate about kids and I have known since I was 5 that I wanted to be a teacher. I have a lot of babysitting experience! I am not currently looking for anything full time since my school and work schedule is pretty full most days, but I would love to help out Sunday's, Saturday evenings, and school days with drop off and maybe pickup! I love working with kids! I love all ages and I am happy to hang out with any age! My favorite age in the school setting is 6-11 years old or 1st to 6th grade! I currently work at CARD doing ABA therapy and I absolutely adore it! I am also a big animal lover! I have a little Aussie named Maverick and I grew up with cats and guinea pigs! I love to hang out outside and go do fun activities! I was a swim instructor for two years during high school and I adored it!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My first jobs in late middle and early high school were babysitting! I have babysat kids ranging in ages 9months to 12years. I was also a swim instructor! I taught all ages but I enjoyed the littles the most! I now work at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) where I am an ABA therapist. I support kiddos ages 2-19years old, all with varying abilities and necessities for care and learning. I am very familiar with nonverbal kiddos, potty training kiddos, differences in social emotional reciprocity, delayed development, and kiddos with challenging behaviors (aggression, self injurious behaviors, tantrums, etc). I am very passionate about every kid getting the level of care, support, and love they deserve to thrive. I adore my job and all of the kiddos I get the honor of working with every day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the zoo/museum! Going to the park! Picnics! Playing outside! Playing pretend! Going to the library was something I did a lot growing up and with my younger brother and cousins!

Helping the development of the child! Babysitters and Nanny’s play a big role in the developmental progress of kids! How you play and interact with children you babysit/nanny or even interact with really matters and it can make a big difference in what kids learn!
