A little bit about me

I am a mom of 3 awesome kids ages 19, 14 and 8. We recently moved to my hometown of Winston-Salem. I have over 30 years of combined experience with babysitting and raising my own kids! I would love to be a nanny to a newborn. I am comfortable administrating medicines if needed and have experience with babies with reflux, toddler tantrums, anxiety and depression in kids, and asthma. I love pets- we have a cockapoo named Sonny who LOVES kids and I have had cats, dogs, turtles, fish, chickens, and am happy to help with most kinds of pet care. I am willing to help with light housework as needed. My youngest is in elementary school so if you need care after 2:30pm it will need to be at my house so I can get her off the bus at 3pm. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Play play play! I love to let them paint with washable paint and maybe add some glitter. Playing on a splash pad or in a baby pool is fun if it’s warm! Getting outside in the fresh air and taking walks, touching all the cool treasures we find in nature. Letting them choose the activity if they are older and encouraging imagination and creativity. If they are a baby, being comforted and keeping them engaged and giggling and giving lots of snuggles!

The most important part of being a nanny is comforting the child with extra patience and love and open communication with the parents to put them at ease!

My experience with special needs children...

My oldest son has struggled with anxiety for many years. He struggles to make friends and know how to handle certain social situations. He has come a long way. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder level 1 when he was 16. Learning how he feels and how to encourage him and speak his love language is a daily challenge but I have learned so much in the process and he has shown me how much he responds to knowing I’m there for him and love him no matter what most of all.
