More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Throughout my career in childcare, I have gained a diverse range of experiences that have enhanced my expertise and equipped me to handle various challenges. I have provided babysitting services for families with 1-4 children, aged 2-13, and worked at the Boys and Girls Club, where I cared for groups of 15-20 children aged 5-8. Currently, I am employed at the Haverford Friends School, where I assist in managing their after-school program for 30 children, ages 2-7. Throughout these roles, I have successfully potty-trained children, worked with children with special needs (including autism, Down syndrome, and ADHD), supported emotional regulation, and ensured that children had safe, enjoyable, and enriching experiences.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
In my experience as a nanny, I enjoy engaging children in activities that promote creativity, learning, and physical activity. I often organize arts and crafts projects, such as painting, drawing, or creating simple DIY crafts, to encourage imagination and fine motor skills. I also enjoy outdoor activities like nature walks, playing sports, or visiting local parks, which help children stay active and explore their surroundings.
For quieter, more focused time, I like to read books with children, using stories to stimulate their imagination and vocabulary. Additionally, I enjoy playing educational games, puzzles, or doing simple science experiments that foster problem-solving and critical thinking. My goal is to create a balanced routine of fun, education, and exercise, ensuring children have both enjoyable and enriching experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...
As a college student studying Education, I have always held the belief that children are, in many ways, our greatest teachers. Their perspectives on the world are so refreshingly unique, and they have an incredible ability to see things through a lens that adults often overlook. Children possess an innate curiosity and creativity that leads them to ask questions I never would have thought to ask, make observations that challenge my own way of thinking, and show a level of compassion and empathy that often surpasses that of adults.
They experience life with an openness and authenticity that is often clouded by the complexities of adulthood. To me, being a nanny goes beyond simply caring for a child; it’s about becoming a student and learning from everything the child has to offer. Each day presents a new opportunity to witness their growth, creativity, and emotional intelligence, and I am constantly inspired by the lessons they impart in the most unexpected and beautiful ways.

My experience with special needs children...
I have had the opportunity to work closely with children with special needs, including spending a summer providing one-on-one support for a seven-year-old child with low-functioning autism. Additionally, I cared for a nine-year-old child with low-functioning, non-verbal autism for two years. I have also worked with children with Down syndrome and ADHD, and I am highly attuned to the unique needs of children with special needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate care, attention, and support to thrive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most memorable stories I’ve ever heard from a child came from a six-year-old girl just a few weeks ago. Completely unprompted, she told me that her dad calls her a "cheesy girl" in the mornings. Naturally, I had to know more, so I asked her how she earned this fun nickname. Without hesitation, she explained, "In the morning, I wake up and eat a slice of cheese. Then, I lay on the couch and eat two more slices of cheese. Before I leave for school, I eat one more piece of cheese." It’s moments like these that remind me of the delightful surprises kids can offer – this one definitely had me laughing!
